Asphalt Milling
Asphalt is a fantastic material as its quick to install, hardy against the weather and wear, and is overall quite cost effective to work with. One of the greatest parts of it is how easy it is to repair, a concrete paved area requires a lot of work to replace, you need to break it up slowly bit by bit and have it removed by heavy machinery which can end up costing tens of thousands of dollars to have completed, then you need to pour the concrete all again which involves the use of formwork, not to mention the long period of time required for the concrete to fully cure all the way through. Alternatively, with an asphalt surface, the top can be milled off, the old asphalt can then be recycled and a new surface paved over the top in just an afternoon without much fuss at all.
Pavement Recycling An excellent bonus from asphalt milling is the ability to recycle the asphalt that is removed from the ground, reducing costs and providing a more sustainable option over all. The Asphalt that is milled is simply ground up and recirculated in with the new asphalt and laid over the new surface once again, offsetting the cost of new material and helping to extend the product life cycle. Because asphalt is such a hardy material it means that there is no need to worry about the old material contaminating the new materials being laid. Machinery and Equipment Asphalt milling machines are large and complex, often most services will get other people in that have the equipment already and are out of control of how good the operator is at their job, while also costing more as there are more mark ups to pay for. We have all our own equipment that we keep well maintained and have a huge amount of experience running, so we know that we can provide you with the best finished product possible, while still keeping the costs low without the need for external contractors getting involved. Experienced Technicians The last thing you need when you have a job to get done is a technician that doesn’t know what he’s doing. We’ve heard countless horror stories in the industry of people that have no idea what they are doing and leave horrible messes behind where there should be smooth pavement, this is something we are passionate to avoid, which is why we put a lot of energy into making sure that our technicians are continuously learning on the job. Asphalting The purpose of milling your asphalt is to either smooth out the surface of the pavement or to dig up sections of it for repair. Once that milling has been completed, we can offer you our asphalting service to fill in whatever we have milled so that you can enjoy the convenience of us handling the whole job for you without having to juggle multiple contractors at the same time. |
